Scottish 1975

At the Scottish National 22 Rifle Championships held last week in Stirling, local marksmen and women had a remarkably successful time.

Ted Watson (Sutton Coldfield) collected the top award of the event with a score of 1577 points out of a possible 1600. As well as the Grand Aggregate, Ted dropped only 6 points on eight cards to win the other major competition the "Any Sights". Mike Willcox (Solihull) shot 397 x 400 to win the "Daily Mail" Trophy.

Other local shooters who showed their capabilities included: Irene Daw (Great Barr), who shot her way into the English team - which won, and Joy Gavin (Sutton Coldfield) had an excellent shoot of 790 x 800 to win the "D" class "Any Sights".
A team of four - Ted Watson, Mike Willcox, Tony Walmesley (Sutton) and Ernie Spiriti, from Great Barr, brought back the Lord Forteviot Cup.
